A new evil is seeking the power of dragons. Can Hakufu and her friends defeat this new threat?
The story is pretty basic once again, yet is told in a more straightforward manner and moves at a better pace than previous seasons. That being said, the story is boring and not interesting at all. It's basically good versus evil. It also has a rather anti-climactic ending.
This season introduces yet another new character: Bachou. I admit she is quite a bit of fun - I like her personality, but this show doesn't need more characters. It needs to develop the ones it has in interesting ways, and it fails to do so. We're at nearly 50 episodes in, and the characters are pretty worthless. We briefly get to see Hakufu's sister, but not in any meaningful way. Genjou ("Basics!") doesn't have a role anymore. Hakufu's cousin has been sidelined ever since season one ended. And where has the manipulative Bunwa gone to? While it's nice to have these fairly self-contained stories each season, it just goes to show how weak and poorly thought-out this series has been.
Xtreme Xecutor has lackluster animation and the artwork can look a bit off at times, too. For the most part the fights are disappointing, but there are a couple decent looking moves here and there. Also, Teni is presented as a crazy killing machine in Dragon Destiny, but her fights here lack intensity. To top things off, the final fight is underwhelming. The show does continue with the great, fanservice-filled eye-catches. The opening and ending are forgettable. This season probably had more nipples than the others.
I'm really not enjoying this show anymore. The story sucks, I don't care about the characters, and worst of all the fights aren't worth sticking around for. All this season has going for it is some fanservice, and that's not enough. If you decide to watch Ikki Tousen, don't bother with seasons 3 or 4.

Lots of fighting and violence.
Tons of panty shots and nipples. Implied rape.
