With Queen Rain Devila defeated, a peace treaty has been formed between the angel world and the devil world which states that neither side will violate the other's territory. This OVA informs us that the Love Angels had their memories and their boyfriend's memories wiped clean of anything that had to do with the devils or being Love Angels because they just wanted to live their lives as normal people. However, some devils don't agree with the peace treaty that was formed and are still going after Love Waves.
Review
The Love Angels take a girls-only vacation to a hotel near the beach which manages to provide some fanservice while the girls spend some time in the water. Their fun is cut short when a spider devil appears to cause some trouble after feeling a Love Wave. Momoko and the others have no idea what is going on because their memory was erased, but Aphrodite shows up and reminds them that they are Love Angels, and together they easily defeat the devil.
Next we get an episode that takes place on a cruise ship that is centered around Salvia and her first love. However, this guy isn't an ordinary human, he is a Fallen Angel who has plans to rule the world with Salvia whether she wants to or not. It also does a good job of showing how much of an impact the other girls have had on Scarlet, because her personality is much more affectionate where as in the TV series she was very cold hearted.
It's now Christmas Eve and the girls are out with their boyfriends, but Hinagaku still insists that Takuro is just her childhood friend. This episode explores a bit more of Hinagaku's and Takuro's childhood, and gets in some good scenes between the two. It was also nice to see the devil Potamos come back again, she was certainly one of the funnest characters from the TV series, you know?
The final episode is a real fun one, it's Valentines Day and a devil has shown up to stop the Love Wave by sending out three cats to gather all the chocolate gifts. Once the Love Angels arrive to stop this devil, he transfers their soul's into the cats, and the cats soul's into the Love Angels. The cats are pretty excited with their new bodies, complete with cat ears and tails, and humorously are acting quite sexy, especially when all three of them start to come onto captain Yanagiba. Salvia goes to get Momoko's mother so she can use her powers as an angel to switch the girls back to their original bodies.
Being an OVA, the animation is improved, but not by much with it looking more like a polished version of the TV series. The Love Angels get different transformation sequences with new - and better looking - battle outfits. Naturally, they also get some new flashy attacks in which to combat the devils. In addition, DX has new opening and ending themes.
It's pretty obvious with how the story is opened up once again that these episodes are a simple continuation of an otherwise finished story and an excuse to get more Wedding Peach out for the fans. There isn't any outspread story arc here, just light, enjoyable tales involving the Love Angels. If you liked the TV series, then you will have a lot of fun with DX.
