Munto

Yumemi has a strange ability to see the Magical Kingdom in the sky. Munto, the Magical King, has traveled down from that world to get Yumemi's power. The Magical Kingdom is all out of Akuto energy, and if nothing is done, both worlds will be destroyed.

For being only 50 minutes, the story is decent. However, some character's roles aren't fully explained and don't get enough screen time to make much of an impact. The history of the Magical Kingdom is told through a narrative, which I thought was somewhat perplexing.

Yumemi is living a normal life by going to school and spending time with her friends Ichiko and Suzume. They are the only ones who have ever trusted Yumemi that there really are floating islands in the sky. There is a side story that ties into the plot involving Suzume and her boyfriend which I thought was enjoyable.

Munto is visually appealing with fluid, OVA quality animation and good artwork. There are a couple really good, but really short action scenes. I also love the detail put into the stunningly beautiful backgrounds. The background music is very good.

Fifty minutes isn't enough time to develop the characters or story. Taken by itself, it's hard not to be a little disappointed with Munto. It is enjoyable, it just doesn't amount to very much.
