This OVA takes place shortly after the movie ends, King Barbas has been slain and things seem to be peaceful in Crystania once again. However, seals are being broken across the land and it appears as if King Barbas is trying to reawaken by once again using Ashrum's body. If he is successful, he will have enough power to rule all of Crystania!
Review
The OVA does an amazing job of continuing the story that was started in the movie. Not only does it explain and expand on the world of Crystania, but it winds up some of the loose ends from the movie and provides an even better ending. You really need to watch the movie before seeing this OVA, because the story directly follows the events from the movie without explaining what happened.
Nearly all of the characters from the movie return for this OVA, although a few of them don't play very big roles. The characters are all doing their own things, but it comes together quite well. Redon and his companions go to the Tribe of the Sealed when they find out that Lady Adelisia is not dead. Sheru, the dark elf, is chased out of her village when Galdy come looking for the Chaos Ring she possesses. She takes her Chaos Ring to the Village of the Butterflies, because only they have the ability to use it and open the door to the world of Chaos, where king Ashrum's soul currently resides.
The animation looks just as good as the movie and there is more than enough action to keep things interesting. The opening song is the same as the movie's ending theme, but it's a good song and it has some neat animation to go with it.
The episodes are quite lengthy at nearly 40 minutes each and there are a lot of events that transpire in this OVA. However, like the movie, it moves at a fast pace and the episodes fly by. If you enjoyed the movie, you'll like the OVA just as much, if not more.

Content
Language
A little bit of profanity.
Violence
Very violent. People get stabbed and beheaded. There is a lot of blood and many deaths.
Sex
Some undetailed and detailed nudity. I don't want to spoil anything, but I thought the nudity was pretty mild.
