Review
While fleeing from the Royal Army, Redon hears a voice when he approaches a boundary called The Gods' Wall. This voice tells him that he can get the power he needs to claim his revenge. Redon's thirst for revenge leads him and his companions past this barrier and to the one who has been calling him: King Barbas. Along the way, they meet a dark elf who attempting to use a Chaos Ring to call back King Ashrum's soul because her king was possessed by the god Barbas. During his journey, Redon learns the history of Crystania, including the people and gods that inhabit it.
The movie doesn't feel rushed, but I think it could have benefited from a few additional scenes to help it flow a little better. Some minor aspects of the story and the characters are not fully explained. It's got a great cast and a very detailed world but I feel both of these aspects could have used more development and I would have loved to see them expanded upon.
One of the highlights of the film is that it's packed with action. Fans of the fantasy genre will be happy to see plenty of sword swingin' action, powerful magic spells and even people who can transform into animals. The animation looks decent overall and the images create a believable fantasy world. I think the character designs take a little getting use to, though, as they can look a little plain at times. The music is quite good, and includes ending and opening theme songs.
Legend of Crystania: The Motion Picture is a solid fantasy title and gets my recommendation.

It's very violent. People get stabbed, cut in half, and limbs and heads or chopped off. There is a lot of blood and many deaths.
